Have you ever heard of dry cleaning for the body and face? This is a so-called gentle method that would clean your skin without removing the protective layer including acids and oils. But is it really good for the body? We tell you everything about dry cleaning! 😉
What Is Dry Cleaning?
Dry cleaning allows to release the pores to promote the removal of toxins from the skin while activating the blood and lymph circulation. It gently and effectively removes on the top layer dead skin cells from the accumulation of dirt and acid, and deeply cleanses the pores. With dry cleaning, cosmetics and therefore toxic products filled with SLS, silicones are avoided…

How and When to Practice Dry Cleaning?
The best time for brushing the skin is just before your shower or bath, when the skin is dry, bare. In the morning, it tends to give you tone when you wake up ! In contrast, in the evening, dry cleaning allows, as a kind of self-massage, to relax after a busy day.

For this, it is enough to brush the skin with a brush made of vegetable fibers. Start with very gentle gestures and adjust the intensity of the brushing relative to the sensitivity of your skin. The basic principle of lymphatic brushing is to brush from the ends of the body to the center in order to increase its effectiveness tenfold! This process lasts 3-5 minutes. :)
You can then take a shower or a hot bath! No need for shower gel, except for intimate areas or if you have really sweaty and prefer to use it. In these cases, use a natural organic cold saponified surgras soap, to respect your skin as much as possible.
The Advantages of Dry Cleaning Body and Face
This method claims many benefits such as:
- A rubberized skin of dead skin: softer, brighter and silky, firmer and free of toxins.
- Do not inflict on your skin toxic cosmetics such as those containing SLS, silicones...
- A general energizing stimulation for the body that results in better blood circulation.
- Reduction of orange peel and greasy lumps thanks to its mechanical exfoliation action.
- Improving the function of the nervous system and strengthening the immune system.
- Feeling of well-being, lightness and invigorating.
But Is It Really Good for The Skin?
In fact, dry cleaning can be very aggressive on the skin, especially in case of bad practice. Your skin may become irritated and bright red.
If you have eczema, psoriasis or shingles, it can worsen the problem and damage your skin by aggravating the lesions. It is best to use a cold saponified soap without perfume, which will purify your skin without further aggressing it.

In addition, oily skin prone to acne can feel aggressor and respond by producing more sebum and creating impurities (pustules, blackheads…). You will understand, we forget about dry cleaning when we have oily skin. It is better to give preference to a mild cleanser without SLS in order to gently treat your skin and regulate the production of sebum.
Brushing legs with varicose veins, the belly of the pregnant woman or atopic skin can be very harmful. So watch out for these fragile areas.
Even if dry cleaning has multiple benefits, it is important to do it gently and reasonably (no more than once a week) so as not to attack the skin and above all, on healthy skin and without special problems.
